Marion set a school record in the penthathlon, as the Tigers finished third out of 10 teams at the 2011 NYSCTC Championships, hosted by St. Lawrence. Marion recorded a score of 3,429 over the five events, shattering RIT's previous record of 3,418, set by Matt Joseph in 2009. Marion was the top performer in both the long jump (6.50 meters) and 1,000-meter dash (2:36.28). He was third in the 55-meter dash, and seventh in both the shot put and high jump. His score provisionally qualifies for the 2011 NCAA Championships, which will be held on March 11-12. Marion also won the 500-meters in a time of 66.53. He was also part of the 4 x 400-meter relay team, along with Cameron Lee, Brecht Moulin, and Mike Ballow that was second in a time of 3:24.16.
