Dempsey crushed his previous school record and defeated several Division I athletes in the pole vault at the prestigious Penn Relays on Friday afternoon. Dempsey placed first out of 22 pole vaulters with a leap of 5.07 meters, automatically qualifying for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships and surpassing his previous mark of 4.95 meters.
