Tiger freshman Jared Burdick took first place honors at the Field Dreams Invitational hosted by Houghton College on Saturday afternoon. Burdick finished the five-mile course in a time of 25:57, winning by 19 seconds for his first collegiate victory. RIT easily won the six-team event.

"Jared ran a very smart and evenly paced race," said RIT Head Coach Dave Warth.  "Despite the Houghton team taking the 1st mile out very fast, Jared just waited until the middle 3 miles and made a strong move to the lead.  He showed a lot of maturity and understanding for a Freshman who only has 4 8K races under his belt."
