Schaffer was named MVP of the Red Dragon Invitational after leading RIT to the championship and a perfect 5-0 record. Schaffer led RIT with 54 kills and recorded 49 digs. On Friday, RIT defeated Russell Sage and U-Mass Boston and on Saturday, the Tigers beat Union, SUNY Oswego and then Nazareth in the championship to claim the crown. It is the second straight year RIT has won the title.
