Senior Erik Zelbacher set three individual records and was part of two relay team records at the 2006 UNYSCSA Championships. Zelbacher recorded a NCAA "A" cut time of :20.26 seconds in winning the 50-yard freestyle on Thursday. He broke his previous record of :20.98 set last season. Earlier in the day, Zelbacher recorded a time of :20.35 in the preliminaries. On Friday, he crushed his previous record of :50.25 in the 100-yard butterfly, this time winning the event in a meet record and NCAA qualifying time of :48.69 seconds. He record a time of :49.36 in the prelims earlier in the afternoon. Saturday, he broke the school record by winning the 100-freestyle in :44.91. He actually swan a :44.82 in the prelims earlier in the day.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Zelbacher, Ken Kania, Tyler Morrison and Jon Scibilia set a Tiger record of 1:25.03 in the preliminaries. In the finals, the relay team almost equaled the time, finishing fourth in 1:25.11. The time broke a 12-year old record by nearly three seconds. Zelabher was part of the 400-free team with Scibilia, Morrison and Phil Baudoin that recorded a record breaking time of 3:08.61.
