On the strength of a NCAA record tying 66 saves from sophomore goalie Jocelyn Guimond the RIT men's hockey team upset #18 St. Lawrence University, 3-2 on Friday evening from a raucous Ritter Arena.

"It was a great team effort," said Head Coach Wayne Wilson. "We came up with some big power play goals and Jocelyn came up big when we needed him."

Guimond tied the Division I record for most saves in a three period game by a winning goaltender. It was done twice before, by Ed Hornstein of Providence in a 4-3 win over Clarkson on Feb. 26, 1955 and by Don Cutts of RPI made 66 saves in an 8-2 win over Boston University on Dec. 29, 1973. On Saturday, Guimond made 37 more saves versus the Saints. Over the two games, Guimond stopped 103-of-111 shots versus the Saints.
