The RIT Women's Track and Field Team competed in the 2005 Deneault Invitational at Cornell University on Saturday. The Tigers were led by sophomore standout Danielle Simmon's NCAA Automatic Qualifying performance in the 800 meter run. Simmons was meet champion in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.70, which automatically qualifies her for the NCAA Championships. This is the second fastest time in NCAA Division 3 Indoor Track. Currently, Kali Moody, a senior at Williams college leads the list with a time of 2:13.05. Simmons' current goal in the event is to run a 2:11. The time on Saturday, broke her school record, set earlier in the season.
