Running in only her 5th 800m ever, Simmons ran hard from the gun and held a huge lead over the field throughout most of the race.  Her only challenge came at the finish as she was out-kicked by an open competitor from Ottawa.  Simmons' time of 2:17.13 was a school record by over four seconds (bettering her own time from Dec.), is the second-fastest time in the nation this year and provisionally qualified her for the NCAA Championship meet in March.  Danielle beat her nearest collegiate competitor by over six seconds.
