Running in only her 5th 800m ever, Simmons ran hard from the gun and held a huge lead over the field throughout most of the race.  Her only challenge came at the finish as she was out-kicked by an open competitor from Ottawa.  Simmons' time of 2:17.13 was a new school record by over 4 seconds (bettering her own time from Dec.), is the 2nd fastest time in the the nation this year for NCAA Division III and provisionally qualified her for the NCAA Championship meet in March.  Danielle beat her nearest collegiate competitor by over 6 seconds!  This was one of the most dominate races I have ever watched.  Danielle exploded from the gun and went out at a torrid pace that had spectatrors and coaches awed.  She held on very strong at the end to achieve an incredible 4 seconf personal best and NCAA qualifier.  This in an event where 1/2 second improvements are considered big.  Danielle is running very well this year and is ranked #1 in the NY state conference in the 200m, 400m and 800m as well as in the top 5 in the 55m dash.
