Senior forward Mike Stanton scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds to earn him the ECAC Upstate Tournament MVP, as the Tigers captured the ECAC Upstate Championship with a 78-76 victory at Nazareth Sunday afternoon.

The victory gave RIT a 20-8 final record while RIT remains perfect in ECAC title appearances taking their last championship game in 1993 when RIT defeated Hamilton 105-95.

Stanton collected 12 points and five rebounds the previous day with the 65-62 victory over Union College.

He was also named to the Empire 8 All-Conference First Team on March 6th.
