The RIT Tigersharks swimming and diving teams defeated Buffalo State on Saturday. The male Tigersharks scored 145 to Buffalo State's 71. Scoring 18 points in the victory was Erik Zelbacher.

Zelbacher competed in the men’s 50 yard freestyle, 400 yard freestyle relay, and 100 yard butterfly competitions. In the 50 yard freestyle competition, Zelbacher finished in 22.45 seconds, earning him a first place finish. Erik was a member of the victorious 400 yard freestyle relay. In the 100 yard butterfly, he finished in 56.67 seconds, with a first place finish.

"Erik swam great after missing the first meet of the year. Erik has a shot to open some eyes at our state meet this year" noted Tigersharks coach Scott Shields. Shields added that "with focused training, he could be a top 3 finisher in each of his events come the state meet in February."

The Tigersharks resume action on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the University of Rochester in the Harvest Relays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
