The RIT Tigersharks swimming and diving teams defeated Buffalo State on Saturday. The male Tigersharks scored 145 to Buffalo State's 71. Scoring 18 points in the victory was Peter Kaemmerlen.

Kaemmerlen competed in the 1650 yard freestyle and the 500 yard freestyle competitions. In the 1650 freestyle race, Kaemmerlen finished first in a time of 17:20.25. In the 500 freestyle, he finished in 5:02.67, earning him a first place finish.

Tigersharks coach Scott Shields noted that Kaemmerlen has "really taken it upon himself to raise his level of competition during our first two mets." The coaching staff has high goals for Kaemmerlen for this season, including "continuing his spectacular swims and be a top three finisher in all his events at our state meet in February."

The Tigersharks resume action on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the University of Rochester in the Harvest Relays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
