Co-Male Athlete of the Week Zach Bednarz, Men’s Lacrosse
RIT was paced by freshman attackman Zach Bednarz who finished with four goals in the Tigers heartbreaking loss to Utica College.
For the Tigers second contest of the week Bednarz proved to be an important part of the offense in their 41-13 victory over Hartwick in overtime. After a 6-6 tie at halftime, RIT pulled away with goals by Andrew Pratt and Chris Copeland, both on feeds from Bednarz to give the Tigers the 8-6 advantage Hartwick again took the lead until Bedzarz sent the ball inside to David Thering to bring RIT within one. With 1:08 remaining in regulation Bednarz tied the game off a pass from Thering.
The Tigers now 7-5 on the season, and will resumes action on Wednesday, April 30 when it hosts NCAA Division II Mercyhurst at 3 p.m.
