The RIT men’s basketball team hosted the Harold J. Brodie Tournament on Dec. 13 and 14. The Tigers captured its first tournament championship since the 1998-1999 season.

Key to the Tiger’s championship was sophomore Sean Murphy. Murphy averaged 18 points and shot 47 percent from the arch, hitting 7-15. Murphy was named the tournament Most Valuable Player and received accolades from the Empire Eight, who named Murphy Player of the Week.

The Tigers return to action in the new year on Jan. 3 at the Penn St. Behrend Tournament in Erie, Pa.
