The RIT women’s tennis team has handed out losses to their competition in their last nine matches. This week, the Tigers defeated Geneseo and Elmira College.

"Shannon Grande “play[ed] her best tennis match ever” against Geneseo, in a match that went to three sets with a duration of two and a half hours," according to coach Ann Nealon. After dropping the first game of the third set, Grande was attempting to battle back into the match during the second game when her racket frame broke. After going to her secondary racket, Grande broke the strings in her racket the very next point. “With a borrowed racket, she managed to overcome her dilemma in a tremendous positive ending,” added Nealon.

The Tigers are currently in third place in the Empire 8 and face William Smith College on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
