Merkov helped RIT earn a doubleheader sweep against Rochester on Sunday by pitching seven scoreless innings over the two games. In game one, Merkov worked four innings, allowing four hits, striking out three batters, and walking one to earn the save in a 13-5 win. Merkov followed that performance with three innings in game two, allowing four hits and notching one strikeout as the RIT topped the Yellowjackets 14-4. He lowered his season earned run average to 2.08 through 39.0 innings.
