Rubin won the 125 lb weight class at the 2023 SUNYAC Championships, Saturday. After a bye, Rubin, the No. 2 seed, defeated No. 7 Billy Colloca (Oneonta) with a fall at 2:02 in his first match. He beat No. 3 Christian Lievano (Cortland) in the semifinals and defeated No. 4 Daniel Parkulom (St. John Fisher), 13-7 in the finals.
