Brown set a Division I team record with his third career hat-trick and tied the DI school mark for career goals, lighting the lamp three times in RIT's 6-1 win over Colgate in front of 10,556 fans at Blue Cross Arena as part of Brick City Homecoming & Family Weekend Saturday evening. Brown scored a goal in all three periods, giving RIT a 1-0 lead in the first, making it 5-0 late in the second and scoring late in the third period on the power-play. He now has 32 goals in his last 40 games dating back to the start of last season. Brown's 55 career goals tie him with Simon Lambert and Tyler Brenner for the team record at the Division I level.
