Feigel enjoyed a breakout performance in the season-opening Highlander Twilight Invitational, hosted by Houghton College on Friday evening. Feigel, along with teammate James Bailey went right to the front of the pack. Feigel finished as runner-up to Bailey in a sharp time of 15:37.2 (mile rate of 5:02) over the 5,000-meter course.
