Sanders, a first-year oarswoman, sat five seat in RIT’s women’s second varsity eight at the 2017 NCAA Rowing Championships. After playing field hockey in high school, Sanders began rowing at RIT last fall and was in the novice eight for most of the year. Sanders was one of five Tiger oarswomen to break 7:30 for a 2,000-meter time during the 2016-2017 season when she recorded a personal record of 7:29.2. On Saturday, May 28, she was part of the boat that earned RIT its first NCAA team championship points in program history, as the Tigers finished fifth of eight crews at the national championship.
