Burkhart, who won the heptathlon on Monday with a school record score of 4,332 points, kicked off action on Friday by winning the javelin throw just over one meter with a toss of 36.75 meters. She currently is RIT's record holder in the event. Burkhart was also third in the 100-meter hurdles with a final time of 15.42 seconds (15.36 in the preliminaries) at the NYSCTC Championships. She was also part of the record setting 4 x 100-meter relay that finished second in 48.85 seconds.
