Martinez placed second, finishing 4-1 at 165 lbs. at the Ursinus Fall Brawl on Saturday. Martinez opened his day with a 3-1 win over Jesse Thorsen of The College of New Jersey. He went on to beat Shawn Kluchinsky of the United States Naval Academy, 5-1. In the quarterfinals, Martinez defeated Frankie Weir of Western New England, with a 9-1 major decision. In the semis, he downed Brad Mutchnik of American University 2-1. Martinez fell to Doug Hamann of The College of New Jersey with a pinfall at 5:52.
