Burkhart emerged victorious at the 2014 New York State Collegiate Track Conference Heptathlon held on Sunday and Monday afternoon at Tiger Stadium. Burkhart broke her own school record with 4,100 points in the seven events, defeating second place finisher Kristen Pompey of Ithaca by 246 points.
Burkhart's score of 4,100 broke her own school record of 3,975, set last season. It is the 28th best score in all of Division III this season. She receives 10 points towards RIT's team total for this weekend's NYSCTC Championships held at St. John Fisher.
On Sunday, Burkhart posted the best time in the 100-meter hurdles, posting a time of 15.83 seconds. She was one of three with the fourth-best high jump with a jump of 1.42 meters, and had the second-best shot with a put of 9.79 meters. Burkhart finished the day with the best time in the 200-meters posting a time of 27.04 seconds.
On Monday, Burkhart was third in the long jump with a leap of 4.93 meters, third in the javelin with a toss of 28.65 meters, and ended the day by winning the 800-meters in a time of 2:36.53.
