Burkhart broke a six-year old school record in the javelin throw finishing second with a toss of 38.18 meters. She broke the previous mark of 36.54 meters held by Danielle Furman, set in 2007. Burkhart was also second in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.53 seconds. She placed third in the finals with a time of 15.46 seconds. Burkhart also broke the school record in the heptathlon, placing third overall out of 12 athletes with a score of 3,975 points. Burkhart was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.35), second in the shot put (9.56 meters), third in the 200-meters (27.18), second in the javelin (29.28 meters) and second in the 800-meters (2:28.86).
