LaFave broke her own American Deaf Athlete record by placing second overall in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Oneonta State May Meet on Saturday with a time of 11:09.38. That time also broke the previous RIT school record of 11:10.40, set by Trisha Sliker in 2006. It is the 33rd best time in the nation this season.
