ROCHESTER, NY -- Tara Lynch (Green Township, NJ/Newton), of the RIT (6-1) women's basketball team, was named Liberty League Rookie of the Week for the week ending Dec. 13, 2015. It is the second time this season Lynch has been honored by the league.

Lynch tallied 19 points in a 97-74 win over Buffalo State on Friday. She was 9-of-14 from the field, grabbing six rebounds for the Tigers who are receiving votes for the first time in program history in this week's DIII poll. Lynch is second on the team in scoring, averaging 15.9 points per game. The freshman leads the team shooting 56.9 percent from the field and is second on the team averaging 6.1 rebounds per game.

RIT, who is receiveing votes in this weeks DIII poll for the first time in program history, is 6-1 on the season and returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 30 when the Tigers face Elmira College at 3 p.m. in Elmira, N.Y.
