ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's hockey program announced today that season tickets for the 2011-12 season go on sale Monday, August 8 at www.rit.edu/hockeytickets. Starting, August 31, single-game and season tickets can also be purchased at the Gordon Field House and Activities Center Box Office. Season tickets will remain on sale until early October.

Season tickets holders enjoy great benefits, including priority status for purchasing postseason tickets at Ritter Arena, a pre-game reception on Friday, January 27, first opportunity to purchase reserved seating, and 15 percent off hockey merchandise at Barnes and Noble at RIT. Also, season ticket buyers can save up to 25 percent off regular prices.

RIT will play its first home game of the 2011-12 season against Niagara at Ritter Arena on Oct. 8, then host St. Lawrence at the Blue Cross Arena on October 15. That contest will be the focal point of RIT's Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend. Tickets for that contest are $12.00 for adults, $10.00 for faculty and staff, and $6.00 for alumni and students. RIT students and alumni can purchase tickets on the RIT campus at the Gordon Field House Box Office before the day of the game for $6.00. Two tickets will be sold per student ID.  Also, alumni can visit the Brick City website to receive a discounted rate on tickets for that game.   Tickets at the door will be $12.00 for adults, $10.00 for faculty, staff, and alumni, and $9.00 for students.  Last year, RIT drew a capacity crowd of 10,556 fans for the Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend contest against UMass Lowell.

Once again, RIT is offering a limited number of reserved seats at Frank Ritter Arena. There will be a second section for reserved seats this season, which are located in the Southeast and Southwest corners of the arena. Fans that purchase reserved tickets will be guaranteed seats in those sections.

Junior Tigers fans can join the RIT Jr. Hockey Booster Club and receive a free Junior Tiger Hockey t-shirt, membership card, free admission to “Skate With the Tigers” on October 29, and free admission to selected RIT home games.

Group rates will also be available this season. A minimum of 15 tickets must be purchased prior to the game with the group receiving $1.00 off each tickets regular price.  For group sales, please call (585) 475-2516 at least one week prior to the contest.

The Tigers enter their seventh season at the NCAA Division I level. RIT won its fourth Atlantic Hockey Association regular season title in five seasons in 2010-11 and are just two years removed from a magical run to the 2010 NCAA Frozen Four. They will play one exhibition, and 17 regular season home games at Ritter Arena on the campus of RIT, and one at Blue Cross Arena in downtown Rochester.

Last season, the Tigers averaged a record 2,027 fans (Ritter Arena capacity is 2,100) per game at Ritter Arena.  Twelve of the 16 contests were sellouts.
