ROCHESTER, NY - Junior midfielder
Chris Cherami (Olwick, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) of the RIT men's lacrosse team was named the RACA (Rochester Area Colleges Athletics) Male Athlete of the Week on Monday for the week ending May 16, 2010.
Cherami helped RIT to an 11-9 road win over No. 10 Connecticut College in the second round of the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship on Saturday. The junior midfielder scored two goals including the game winner with 1:07 to play in the fourth quarter as RIT beat the Camels 11-9. Cherami beat his defender and ripped a shot in to snap a 9-9 tie. He also scored late in the first quarter. Cherami now has 15 goals and 23 points this season.
The Tigers will travel to play defending national champion SUNY Cortland in the NCAA Quarterfinals on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
