HOBOKEN, NJ -- The RIT (0-1, 0-1 E8) women's tennis team began the 2009 season on Sunday afternoon at Stevens. The Tigers fell to the Ducks 7-2.

In doubles action the team of Amanda Berg (Mendham, NJ/Mendham) and Alexis Stanley (Vestal, NY/Vestal) posted the lone win for RIT. The duo defeated Allyson Klingman and Nicole Portner 9-7.

Berg posted the Tigers lone win in singles action, defeating Klingman 7-6 (7-2), 1-6, 1-0 (10-2). Michele Caporali (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) was the only other Tiger to go to three sets, losing to Mine Besse 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8).

RIT looks to get on the winning track on Saturday, September 12 when they face Hartwick College at 1 pm in Oneonta, New York.
