Colaprete named RACA Male Athlete of the Week

ROCHESTER, NY -- Junior midfielder,
Dom Colaprete (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) of the RIT men's soccer team, has been named the Rochester Area Colleges Athletics (RACA) Male Athlete of the Week on Monday for the week ending October 25, 2009. It is the second straight weekly honor for Colaprete, as he earned Empire 8 and ECAC Upstate honors last week.
Colaprete scored on a running header in the 29th minute, leading the Tigers to a 1-0 win over St. John Fisher, its sixth straight on Saturday. He leads the team in scoring with 15 points on a team-high seven goals and one assist. Four of his seven goals have been game-winners and he has scored a goal in five straight games, all RIT wins. Colaprete has scored the game-winning tally in each of RIT's last three wins.
RIT is 8-6-1 overall and 5-1-0 in the Empire 8. The Tigers are currently in a tie with Nazareth College for first place in the Empire 8 standings. RIT and Nazareth will meet on Saturday at 12 pm on RIT Field. RIT SAAC will be sponsoring a Halloween costume contest. The winner of Saturday's game will host the Empire 8 Tournament on Nov. 6 and Nov. 8.
