ROCHESTER, NY - Freshman infielder Erin Guinan (Geneva, NY/Geneva) of the RIT softball team, was named the Liberty League Softball Rookie of the Week on Monday, for the week ending March 19, 2017. It is Guinan's second weekly honor of the season.

Guinan hit .500 (9-for-18) and slugged .833 with seven runs scored, three doubles, a home run, and five RBIs as RIT went 4-1 in Florida during their Spring trip. She started the week by hitting a walk off single in a 2-1 win over Westfield State on Monday. Wednesday, she hit her first collegiate home run, doubled, and drove in three runs in a win over Gallaudet. She added four hits and three runs scored in a pair of games on the final day.

Guinan leads RIT with a .449 batting average, .633 slugging percentage and 22 hits to go along with 15 runs scored, a homer and 12 RBIs in 13 games this season.

RIT (10-3) is scheduled to host Oswego State in a doubleheader from Tiger Stadium on Saturday, March 25 at 1 p.m.
