BEREA, OH - The RIT wrestling team placed fifth out of 27 teams at the John Summa Invitational hosted by Baldwin Wallace College on Saturday afternoon with a team total of 86.5 points. Brockport won the team title with 204 points. Sophomore #
Nick Stewart (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin)# was RIT's top finisher, placing second overall at 285 lbs.
Stewart went 3-1 on the afternoon, opening with a 4-3 win over Karl Hiss of Washington and Jefferson, then advanced to the semifinals with an 8-6 victory over Patrick Krenz of SUNY Brockport. Stewart then earned a 8-4 win over Jospeh Fisher of Ohio Northern before losing to Josh Wilkinson over SUNY Brockport, 10-2 in the championship.

Nick Fuschino (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts)# recorded a strong third place finish at 174 lbs. for RIT, going 4-1 on the afternoon with three falls, improving his record to 26-11 this season. His lone loss came to champion Kyle Kwiat of Ohio Northern.

Tyler Brent (Gasport, NY/Royalton-Hartland)# went 3-2 at 184 lbs. to earn a fourth place finish, recording two falls on the afternoon.
Dan Haughton (Little Falls, NY/Dolgeville) was 3-3 with a fall and technical fall, placing sixth at 133 lbs., while #
Dave Sickler (Belle Vernon, PA/Belle Vernon)# finished sixth at 197 lbs.

Rory Bruce (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) and
Tory Cain (Ontario, NY/Wayne)# suffered injuries that knocked them out of action. Cain was on his way to a shot at third place at 165 lbs. before getting hurt in the consolation round. He finished in sixth place.

Ben Johnstone (West Henrietta, NY/Rush-Hunrietta) and
Tom Armentano (Drexel Hill, PA/Monsignor Bonner)# also earned wins on the afternoon for RIT.
The Tigers return to action on February 18, as they travel to Case Western Reserve for the Si Ostrach Tri Meet.
