ROCHESTER, NY - Sophomore Matt Giannino (Syracuse, NY /Christian Brothers Academy) of the RIT men's cross country team was named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region team on Tuesday.

Giannino was RIT's best finisher at the 2011 NCAA District Championship last weekend, as he finished 26th overall out of 272 runners, blazing the 8,000-meter course in an impressive time of 26:11.6.  It is his first All-Region honor.
