William J. Stinson wrestled on the first team at the Institute in 1927-28. He captained for the first undefeated team (8-0) and competed in post-season championships. A 1929 graduate in mechanical cooperative, Stinson was selected to represent the team in national and Niagara District Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) championships. He was a member of the Varsity 'M' Club and scored 27 points in his second season. Stinson was a member of the Ramikan staff (school yearbook) and served as treasurer of the Mechanical Students Association at the Institute.
