William F. Shopmyer ranked third in scoring during his three-year wrestling career at RIT. A 1932 graduate in mechanical cooperative, Shopmyer grappled at 155 pounds. Former coach Mark Ellingson has said Shopmyer was one of the best. Shopmeyer served as president of his senior class, was a member of the Student Council and graduated in the top of his class. Hall of Famer and former teammate Don Thomas stated, "Shoppy gave of himself the same as he did in all other activities: his very best."
