In four years of wrestling for RIT (1954-1958), Tony Palmiere had a very enviable record. He posted 36 wins, lost only three and drew four times. During his career, the Tigers won 25, lost 16 and tied four. The Rochester native captained the squad in 1957-58 when RIT posted a 9-2-0 record. The business administration major wrestled at 123 pounds and boasted three second places in the prestigious 4-I Tournament. Palmiere was named Outstanding Wrestler in 1957 and served as president of the RIT Lettermen's Club in 1958. His best year was 1955-56, when he posted an 11-0-1 record. During his career Palmiere won 20 of his 43 bouts by pin. In 1957-58 he captured nine of his 12 matches via pin route. He held records for most victories without a loss (16), most dual wins in a season (12, tied) and most pins in a season (nine).
