A versatile player and tenacious defender, Tom Dustman played two seasons after transferring from Erie Community College. During his career, he averaged 12.9 points and 5.1 rebounds, shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 82.3 percent at the line. Twice an ECAC Weekly All-Star, Dustman was also named to the Empire Athletic Association and New York State all-star squads. His senior year RIT captured the Chase Lincoln First Tournament crown as tri-captain Dustman garnered All-Tournament honors. In 1975-76, he helped guide the Tigers to one of their best seasons ever (20-7), and a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Dustman is one of the founders of the RIT Athletic Association and in 1987, was honored as a Distinguished Basketball Alumnus.
