In two seasons, Tom Connelly scored 800 points in basketball and 278.75 in track. Connelly was the Senior Athlete of 1971 and has several school marks to his credit, becoming the first junior college transfer to be inducted. During his basketball career, Connelly’s Tigers won 29 games. In 1970, Connelly joined the Tigers midway through the campaign and guided them to 11 wins in 14 starts. Connelly was on every All-Star team and earned All-East honors in 1969-70. He was the first recipient of the basketball scholarship awarded by Harold J. Brodie. Connelly is also among the leaders on the all-time track and field scoring list.
