Ramon West, formerly of Baltimore, Md., wrestled at 137 pounds. In three seasons, West compiled a 32-3-1 overall record, scoring more than 120 match points while holding his opponents to 20. A 1961 graduate in printing management, West was one of the first two wrestlers selected by Coach Earl Fuller to compete in the NCAA Championship. In the 1960’s, all teams competed in one national championship. As a sophomore, West reached the NCAA quarterfinals. In his junior year, West posted an 11-0 record and advanced to the national semifinal round. West won two 4-I championships and was runner-up in the prestigious Wilkes Tournament. During his wrestling tenure, RIT posted a 25-9-1 overall record.
