A native of Cranford, N.J., Mike Gargiles was an All-American and school record holder in track and skated center on the men's hockey team. In track, Mike placed second in the 100 meters at the 1998 NCAA Division III Championships with a time of 10.64 seconds. His school record came that same year with a time of 10.56 seconds. On the ice, Gargiles played on four NCAA Division III playoff teams. Over four campaigns, he played in 88 games, scoring 43 points. He was selected for the 2000 Eastern College All-Star game at SUNY Plattsburgh. Gargiles was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity as a member of the hockey team.
