Michael McInally was one of the finest wrestlers in RIT wrestling history. He competed in four NCAA Tournaments, advancing to the championship bout at 125 lbs. in 2009 and title match at 133 lbs. in 2011. McInally enjoyed immediate success in 2006-07, finishing 35-9. The following season, McInally won his weight class at the ECWC Championships and went 33-5 overall. In 2008-09, McInally won his first 32 matches of the season and advanced to the NCAA Championship match. He earned his first All-American honor and was named the 2009 ECWC Wrestler of the Year, while finishing 35-2. McInally missed 2009-10 due to injury, but came back even stronger in 2010-11. He made the move to 133 lbs. and finished 37-4, once again advancing to the national championship bout to earn All-American honors. McInally finished 141-20 all-time at RIT, with the second most wins in program history. McInally was a tremendous 56-2 in dual meets, winning his final 36 dual matches in a row.
