Matt Hamill had an outstanding wrestling career at RIT.  Matt did everything in three’s; he won three national championships in three different weight classes.  He was a three-time All-American, a three-time New York State Champion, and a three-time RIT Invitational Champion.  Hamill compiled a career record of 89-3. During his senior year he went the entire season without a loss.  All three defeats for Hamill came against Division I wrestlers.  He never lost a match to a Division III wrestler. Hamill set the school record for pins in a season with 19 and career with 47.  Hamill holds the all-time RIT record for most tournament wins with 71.  He was the 1998 National Deaf Athlete of the Year.  In 1999, the Rochester Press-Radio Club named Hamill the Male Collegiate Athlete of the Year.
