Lynda (Gorsky) Kessler was an integral part of women's tennis during its most successful era. An outstanding singles player, she went on to rewrite the record books, setting four school marks that still stand. During her dual match career Kessler won 39 matches, needing only two sets in all but two victories. She had the distinction of playing on RIT's only undefeated teams in 1981 (9-0) and 1982 (13-0). During that stint, RIT won the New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) championship after finishing runnerup and third the two previous seasons. In 1983, the business administration major placed sixth in the singles championship at the NYSWCAA competition. Her individual records include most dual wins in a season (13) and career (30), most overall wins in a season (19 in 1983), most overall wins in a career (55) and most consecutive dual wins (24 from 1980 to 1983).
