Lou (L.A.) Alexander III, originally from Honeoye Falls, N.Y., was a three-sport athlete at R.I.T, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1979. Alexander played baseball, soccer and basketball at RIT. In baseball, he was an all-ICAC first baseman in 1979. Alexander led the Tigers to four straight ECAC appearances, including a title in 1977. Alexander finished his baseball career with a .299 batting average and .982 fielding percentage, holding then single-season records of 37 hits and 273 putouts and career records of 77 hits and 510 putouts. Alexander came back to be an assistant coach in 1980. In soccer, Alexander was a two-time all-ICAC midfielder and scored 25 career points. He was a two-sport captain.
