A native of Rocky River, Ohio, Lauren Long enjoyed a stellar career with RIT women’s basketball and crew squads. In basketball, the center/forward became the second Tiger to surpass 1,000 career points, finishing with 1,035, while appearing in 98 contests. She holds school marks for most rebounds in a game (25) and most consecutive made free throws (18). Long was a three-time All-Empire 8 selection and was named to the Empire 8 President’s List for academic excellence in 2003-04, while maintaining a 3.8 grade point average. The senior co-captain also pulled down 728 career rebounds and blocked 71 shots in her four campaigns. Long was part of the 2000 Varsity 8 crew team that won the Kate Louise Cup at the Stonehurst Regatta for the first time. The team also earned two Silver Medals in spring competition, coming at the New York State Collegiate Rowing Championships (2001) and Dad Vail Regatta (2001).
