That same year, the Tigers made their first appearance in the NCAA Division III playoffs. Vadas was a multidimensional player. In four seasons, he scored 83 goals and added 82 assists, for 165 points. That figure ranks him 10th on the RIT career point list. Twice he led the team in scoring. As a faceoff man, he won 62.5 perecent of his attempts. In the ground ball category, Vadas scooped up 522, and still holds that career mark. His efforts did not go unnoticed, as he was twice All-EAA, and conference Player of the Year in 1983. The Tigers won EAA titles in 1982 and 1983. Vadas also played one season of hockey, scoring eight points in 1980-81 as the team posted a 14-10 overall record.
