A native of Livonia, N.Y., Justin Smith was a versatile baseball player. He played both infield and outfield. In his four years he had an impressive .346 batting average. His best year was in 2011 when the captain carded a .393 batting average. In 2009 against Cazenovia, Justin tied the school mark with four stolen bases. He also holds the career record with 63 swipes. He was a three-time All-Empire 8 selection with two honors at second base and one as an outfielder. He was also named Empire 8 Sportsperson of the Year in 2011. In 2010 he received the Doolittle Award, and in 2011 he was second team ABCA/Rawlings All-New York Region. He was a two-time Academic All-American and received RIT’s prestigious Ellingson Award for academic and athletic success.
