One of the top defenders in NCAA Division III lacrosse, Jim Kimmel certainly left his mark as a Tiger stickman. The native of Levittown, N.Y., guided RIT to four NCAA playoff appearances (1984-1987), including three trips to the semifinals. In his familiar role of shutting down the opposition's top scorers, Kimmel led RIT to a four-year 50-10 record and three Empire Athletic Association (EAA) titles. Twice named All-American (second team in 1986, first team in 1987), Kimmel also garnered two All-EAA honors. During his career, he also collected 174 ground balls, a measure of ball control. In 1987 he also served as a team captain.
