James "Jim" Cargnoni wrestled for three seasons at RIT, compiling an enviable 28-3-1 dual record. He also participated on the only wrestling squad to ever record a perfect season (10-0 in 1953-54). Cargnoni’s versatility came to the forefront during 1955-56 when he wrestled everything from 157 to 190 lbs. and responded with an outstanding 8-2 mark. During his career, Cargnoni set two marks which stood for 40 years, including most pins in a season (eight, set in 1955-56) and most career pins (18). In 1956, Cargnoni gained runner-up honors in the prestigious 4-I Championships. In 1954 and 1955 he was a semifinalist.
