Gene DeCristofaro was a standout for the RIT basketball team. In his three varsity campaigns, DeCristofaro scored 1,130 career points, as the Tigers posted a 42-26 overall won-lost record during his tenure. DeCristofaro saw duty at both center and forward from 1968-71. The Rochester native is third all-time in Tiger history with 806 rebounds and gained Lincoln First All-Tournament honors in his junior year as RIT won the title. The business administration major led the team in scoring two of his three varsity campaigns. In 67 games played, DeCristofaro was the scoring leader on 23 occasions. He was named to the RIT Invitational All-Tournament Team three times and scored 20 or more points in a contest 18 times.
